Listers Health Membership Terms & Conditions

This agreement is between you and Trimming You Ltd T/A Listers Health. These terms & conditions apply to users of the facilities and services provided by Listers Health, Lister Mill, Heaton Road, Bradford, BD9 4SH. Registered company number 09495753.

By becoming a member of Listers Health you agree to comply with all terms, conditions, rules & regulations. These terms and conditions take precedence over any previous terms and conditions or any oral representations made.

Welcome to Listers Health, we are delighted to have you as a member. Before you proceed with your membership, please carefully read and understand the following terms and conditions that govern the use of our facilities and services:


  1. Membership Eligibility: 

1.1. All individuals must be at least 14 years old to become a member. 

1.2. Minors between the ages of 14 and 16 may join with written consent from a parent or legal guardian and must be supervised by a parent or guardian over 18 years old at all times.

1.3. The management reserves the right to refuse membership without providing any specific reason.


  1. Membership Fees: 

2.1. Membership fees are non-refundable. 

2.2. Members must pay their membership fees promptly based on the selected billing frequency (monthly, half-yearly, or annually). 

2.3. Failure to make timely payments may result in the suspension or termination of the membership.

2.4 If you pay your membership by Direct Debit and you cancel your Direct Debit during the minimum term, all unpaid monthly instalments and any payments that are due within your minimum term shall become immediately due and payable by you. 


  1. Membership Benefits:

3.1. Membership grants access to the gym facilities during regular operating hours. 

3.2. Certain services or classes may have additional fees, and availability may vary. 

3.3. Members are entitled to use the lockers during their visit, but they must bring their own padlocks or purchase one from the gym.


  1. Membership Cancellation and Freeze: 


Membership Cancellation: 

4.1. Members can cancel their membership by providing written notice at least one calendar month before the next billing cycle. 

4.2 Cancellation requests within a minimum contract term will be considered under the following conditions:

4.2.1. Medical Reasons: If a member experiences a medical condition that prevents them from using the gym facilities, they are eligible to request cancellation with appropriate documentation from a qualified medical professional.

4.2.2. Relocation: Members who relocate their residence or place of employment to a location that is more than 15 miles away from Listers Health can request cancellation by providing proof of their new address or workplace location. 

4.2.3. Redundancy: This agreement can be cancelled upon appropriate proof of redundancy from your employer or other loss of livelihood.

4.2.4. Pregnancy: This agreement can be cancelled if you become pregnant upon the appropriate written proof being given.

4.3. If the cancellation request is made within the initial membership commitment period, there will be no refunds or reimbursements for any unused portion of the membership.

4.4. Members who cancel for medical reasons or relocation will be required to pay the regular membership fee for the month in which the cancellation occurs.

4.5. Listers Health reserves the right to charge a cancellation processing fee to cover administrative costs. The processing fee amount will be communicated to the member upon receipt of their cancellation request.


Membership Freeze: 

4.6. Members may request to freeze their membership from a minimum of one month to a maximum of 3 months per membership year. 

4.7 A fee of £5 per month will be charged. 

4.8 Any months frozen will be added to the end of the current membership minimum term period. 

4.9 A freeze can not be actioned within 5 working days of the next regular payment date

4.10 Memberships can only be frozen by calendar month


  1. Direct Debit Membership Automatic Renewal

5.1. Once you have completed the minimum number of  Direct Debit Payments we will automatically continue collecting the Direct Debit payment amount every month. 

5.2. Your membership will be extended by one month for each payment (“Renewal Period”). This renewal Direct Debit payment amount may only be amended if we advise you in writing giving not less than 30 days notice.

5.3. Once you have completed the minimum Number of Direct Debit payments you can cancel your Automatic Renewal payments by requesting a cancellation in writing via email.


  1. Transferring your membership

6.1. You may be able to transfer your membership to a third party.

6.2. Please request a transfer in writing via email.

6.3. A transfer fee of £35 will be payable if your transfer is accepted.


  1. Code of Conduct: 

7.1. Members are expected to behave in a respectful and courteous manner towards staff and fellow members. 

7.2. Any abusive, offensive, or disruptive behaviour towards others will not be tolerated, and the gym reserves the right to take appropriate action, including termination of membership. 

7.3. The use of illegal substances or performance-enhancing drugs on gym premises is strictly prohibited.


  1. Photography & Videos

8.1 You must not take photographs or videos that capture any member of Listers Health or any member of staff.

8.2 You must not take photographs or videos of any other members without their express consent. You must get this consent before photographing or videoing any other member.

8.3 You must not take photographs or videos in a changing area, sauna or toilet area.

8.4 We may ask you to stop taking photographs or videos and delete them as appropriate.

8.5 Subject to the provisions set out above you are permitted to take photographs or videos of yourself for your own personal use only.


  1. Social Media

9.1 We operate a safe environment for our staff and guests. As part of that safe environment we ask all guests to use social media in an appropriate manner, having regard to other individual’s privacy.

9.2 Any use of social media identifying our staff or our guests or revealing their personal details will be taken as a serious breach of these terms and conditions and may result in your membership being terminated.


  1. Health and Safety:

10.1. Members should consult with a medical professional before starting any exercise program to ensure they are fit to participate.

10.2. On joining Listers Health, we offer all our members a comprehensive induction to instruct you on the safe use of the gym equipment. We strongly advise you undertake this. Listers health will not accept any liability for any personal injury claim if you use the equipment having not undertaken an induction from a qualified member of Listers Health staff.

10.3. Members are responsible for using equipment correctly and following safety guidelines provided by the gym's staff. 

10.4. Headscarves must not be worn around the neck, this is a ladies only gym so unless there are men on the premises you must remove your headscarf when exercising or wear a sports specific Hijab.

10.5. In case of injury or accident on the gym premises, members must notify staff immediately.

10.6. We use CCTV to monitor access and gym usage to ensure the safety and security of our members.

10.7. You will not be allowed late entry to classes for safety reasons.


  1. Personal Belongings: 

11.1. The gym is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings within the facility.

11.2. Members are advised not to bring valuable items to the gym or to keep them secure in lockers.

11.3. Do not leave belongings in lockers overnight, the padlock will be broken and items removed.


  1. Facility Usage: 

12.1. Members must adhere to the gym's rules and regulations, as well as any instructions provided by the staff for the safe and proper use of equipment. 

12.2. The gym reserves the right to close certain areas or facilities for maintenance, repairs, or events.

12.3. Wear appropriate clothing when exercising.

12.4. Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times while in the gym area.

12.5. You must shower before entering the sauna.

12.5. Post workout clothing must not be worn in the sauna.

12.6. No oils, lotions or facemasks to be used in the sauna.

12.7. Shaving is not permitted in the sauna.

12.8. Please ensure you return your weights and any other equipment to their original place when you have finished with them.

12.9. Allow sufficient time for changing and showering so you are able to leave by closing time.

12.10. Management has the right to cancel any class at short notice or on a long term basis.


  1. Termination of Membership: 

13.1. The gym may terminate a membership if a member violates any of the terms and conditions outlined herein. 

13.2. Termination may also occur if a member's behaviour is found to be harmful or disruptive to the gym's reputation or other members' experiences.


  1. Amendments to Terms and Conditions: 

14.1. The gym reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any changes via email or through a notice posted at the gym. 

14.2. Continued use of the gym's facilities and services after changes to the terms and conditions signify acceptance of the modified terms.
